Chest Day!!!!
Chest day ladies and
gentlemen, the best day of your entire week! Working out chest is probably the most
fun muscle group to tackle. It’s one of the most intense workouts of the body,
and you should always have a spotter. Chest day incorporates the pectoral muscles
of your body and the triceps as well. So be prepared for an awesome workout
that will surely rip your chest apart!

Like I said
previously, you should always begin your workout by doing a quick warm up
(approximately 5-10 minutes) to avoid injuries. After you’re all warmed up, get
on that bench press and get to work. As I said, you should have a person behind
you spotting just in case. Start off at a low weight and progressively move to your
maximum weight for a good 2-4 repetitions. Finish it with a proper set (rep out)
and then move along to the next workout. Do the same for the following
exercises, incline bench press and decline bench press so you can target your
upper and lower pectoral muscles. I suggest that you change it up by using dumbbells
so you do not reach a plateau (not seeing any more gains or progress). Another
workout you should consider are push ups, dips, and lower cable chest raises.
All these workouts are excellent at targeting your pectoral muscles. Now for
ladies who think they shouldn’t workout their chest, you are wrong! Not working
out your chest creates an off balance workout routine resulting in a bad
posture, and can lead to injury when using chest muscles for other workouts
(Body Building). So ladies do not skip out on this one. If you are not
comfortable with using certain areas of the gym or do not have a partner, use
the chest machines.

So now that you have a
pretty good idea of how to workout your chest, go give it a try. Remember to
always have a spotter with you when you’re doing these exercises. Workout hard
and never give up, you’ll start seeing results. It won’t happen in a day or
two, it takes time and dedication so keep going at it. Thanks for reading and
stay tuned for more of Maroun’s health and fit advice.

Great blog on the wonders of healthy living and working out. Don't forget to explain some of these machines to the uninitiated. Sometimes you mention a bunch of machines and exercises without explaining them to us. Overall though, a nice flow and an easy tone that keeps us interested.

Wow Maroun, I don’t know what to say! I honestly think you can become a personal trainer. Just by reading your post, I’m encouraged to start working out again and trying out these different varieties of workout exercises. Continue posting more posts about this amazing subject as I am interested on learning more about working out!
ReplyDeleteThank you Hussein for your kind words, it's actually something iv'e been thinking about for a while. I might do it when I get in to University because it is something that really interest me. I hope my blogs are helping you to achieve your goals of living a healthier life!!
DeleteI liked that you decided this week to talk about a specific body part to exercise. Also, how you incorporated pictures to have a visual effect on how to do the exercise, was good. I agree with you when you said that women should work out their chests too but obviously most women work out to tone while guys work out to bulk up.
ReplyDeleteIt's true Gabby that most women decide to concentrate on toning their body and that's good and all. My point is that when women do decide to workout, they shouldn't skip on a certain workout, in most cases it's chest day that they decide to skip. That creates an off balance in the workout which could result in injury later on.
DeleteThe very few times that I went to a gym, I did one chest day, and must say that I loved it, the feeling I had after the chest workout, of how my pectoral muscles and triceps were tight and sore. Now that I am busy I can't go to the gym, and so I started building a weight room in my garage. Is their a way that I can work out my chest and get that feeling without a spotter, I have no relatives strong enough to be able to truly spot me if anything goes wrong? Any tricks?
ReplyDeleteI know Alex, it's a great feeling when your pectoral muscles and triceps are hurting after an awesome chest workout!! It's one of the many reasons why I keep going at it almost every day. The advice I would give you whilst working out by yourself is to do weights that are not to heavy and feel comfortable not having a spot. I advise you not to go heavy while you're alone because it is dangerous and you could hurt yourself. Keep trying to find a spotter and while you are waiting, just do high reps with low weight to rip your chest.
DeleteAhh Maroun, this has to be my favourite post of yours. I have forever been the guy with bigger arms but a smaller chest. It makes me sad and envious. Reading gave me a few good tips on how to get my chest to improve in size and in strength. Now I just need to hit the gym more often...
ReplyDeleteMan do I love reading your posts Maroun. I agree with you that chest day is the most fun workout day of the week. I was also thinking of registering to Lifestyle to be able to work out with you and your brother. Let me know whenever you're going, I'm sure you can teach me a lot.
ReplyDeleteThe first time I worked out with you, Maroun, was chest day, and it was the most brutal and exhilarating workout of my life. I can vouch for it "ripping your chest apart" (it literally did), but the feeling of tightness and soreness that followed is what hooked me on power lifting and body building. I appreciate the dumbbell tip, since I have reached a plateau that I just can't seem to escape. Very informative for the newcomer as well as the veteran!
ReplyDeleteAfter reading Jonathan's comment, I'm actually scared but also excited and down to work out with you Maroun. Maybe sometimes we could go to the gym together and you could show me some work out tips!
